What you do
- Put all of the ingredients in a pot or pan with a lid.
- Add 500ml/18fl oz freshly boiled filtered water.
- Leave to steep for 10–15 minutes (or for a stronger chai, simmer in the pan with the lid on for 10–15 minutes), then strain.
Cinnamon bark Spicy-sweet cinnamon bark warms you up and gets you going.
Ginger root Warm ginger is an essential ingredient in every chai. Great for digestion and giving you a little tickle, helping to perk you up.
Cardamom pod This fragrant pod awakens your mind and makes the chai an authentic one.
Licorice root Licorice is a fantastic sweetener and a lot healthier than sugar.
Vanilla pod The delight of the tropics, vanilla brings pleasure to mind, body, soul and taste buds alike.
