For those times when a steaming mug of our tea just isn’t warming enough, these mulled wine and cider recipes are perfect for a tasty, toasty winter treat. Sensationally spiced with Pukka Vanilla Chai tea bags, our festive herbal mulled drinks create a warm, soothing and uplifting experience that will keep you toasty as those chilly winter nights close in.

What you do

  1. Pukka’s Festive Herbal Mulled Wine
  2. Take 2 litres of organic Merlot (the wine highest in antioxidant resveratrols), and add to a large saucepan.
  3. Add 2 sliced organic lemons.
  4. Cut 2 organic oranges in half and press cloves into the skin. Add to the pan, along with 10 Pukka Vanilla Chai tea bags and some grated nutmeg (optional).
  5. Warm the mixture (do not boil), then add 6 tablespoons of brown sugar. Gently heat for a further 15 minutes.
  6. If it’s a cold night, add some brandy before serving.
  7. Pukka’s Festive Herbal Mulled Cider
  8. Take 2 litres of organic cider (high in the potent antioxidant quercetin), and add to a large saucepan.
  9. Add 2 sliced apples, 4 Pukka Vanilla Chai tea bags, 4 bags of Three Cinnamon, 2 bags of Star Anise and Cinnamon. Warm the mixture (do not boil), then add 2 tablespoons of honey. Gently heat for a further 15 minutes.
  10. If it’s a cold night, add some calvados before serving.
