Pukka inspired cocktails recipes to enjoy this Christmas

7th December 2017

If there's one thing that will help take a cocktail to the next-level, it's the incredible flavours of the herbs and spices you choose to add to them. This got us wondering how our own herbal tea blends could work beautifully in cocktail recipes, when paired with a spirit or liquor.

We've been mixing and muddling, testing and trialling (by far the best bit) to come up with a collection of brand new Pukka-infused cocktail recipes ready for the seasons festivities. These are our very favourites, but if you have your own Pukka-inspired recipe, please share it with us.

Turmeric Gold Mojito

We've captured the golden goodness in our refreshing (not to mention delicious) Pukka-infused cocktail recipe, using this Turmeric Gold blend.

Think classic mojito with a Pukka twist, this little beauty is the perfect Christmas party cocktail.

Follow these steps or view the full recipe:

1. Cover three Turmeric Gold tea bags with 250ml of freshly boiled water. Leave for an hour. Strain and let cool further.

2. In a tall glass, add crushed ice, a lick of locally sourced organic honey some fresh, organic mint leaves and 50ml of the Turmeric Gold cordial. Add the gin (if you wish) at this stage.

3. Muddle all the ingredients together then add some organic cloudy lemonade.

4. Serve with a sprig of mint and raise a glass to the golden goddess.

Vanilla Chai Infused Mulled Wine

For those times when a steaming mug of our tea just isn’t warming enough. Sensationally spiced with Pukka Original Chai tea bags, our festive herbal mulled wine creates a warm, soothing and uplifting experience that will keep you toasty as those chilly winter nights close in.

Follow these steps or view the full recipe:

1. Take two litres of organic Merlot (the wine highest in antioxidant resveratrols), and add to a large saucepan.

2. Add two sliced organic lemons.

3. Cut two organic oranges in half and press cloves into the skin. Add to the pan, along with 10 Pukka Original Chai tea bags and some grated nutmeg (optional).

4. Warm the mixture (do not boil), then add six tablespoons of brown sugar. Gently heat for a further 15 minutes.

5. If it’s a cold night, add some brandy before serving.

Three Ginger Spritzer

One of our absolute favourites for helping to stoke your inner fires, ginger root is a dream come true for mixologists too. Both spicy and sweet, ginger can be just the ingredient to give a cocktail recipe a fiery zing and bring it to life.

We've taken things to the next step, by creating a cocktail syrup using our Three Ginger tea. This blend of sweet galangal, ginger and golden turmeric is both refreshing and warming so can be enjoyed come rain or shine. Serve up and enjoy with bourbon, tequila or (like below) vodka.

Follow these steps or view the full recipe:

1. Cover three Pukka Three Ginger tea bags with 150ml of freshly boiled water, and leave to infuse for 15 minutes in a covered container.

2. After 30 minutes, strain to create a Three Ginger essence, and chill this in the fridge for two hours.

3. When chilled, stir 50ml of the Three Ginger essence together with 25ml of vodka, a handful of crushed ice, the juice of a quarter of a lemon and a dash of honey.

4. Top up with sparkling water or ginger ale.
