Giving 100% back this Black Friday
21st November 2017
This is Black Friday, the season's busiest shopping occasion. Whilst people use this time to think about the joy of giving to loved ones, we’d like to offer our customers the opportunity to also show love to people, plants and the planet.
This year, Pukka Herbs donated 100% of Black Friday online UK sales to local charities based in our hometown of Bristol. We believe strongly in using business as a force for good, creating circles of benevolence so that people, plants and the planet can all benefit. For Black Friday, we wanted to be able to specifically give something back to our Bristol community.
Our first chosen charity, the Forest of Avon Trust, has a steadfast commitment to deliver and conserve the benefits of trees and woodlands for those in Bristol and Avon county. The charity’s mission mirrors our own ethos, to bring people closer to the incredible power of plants.
Our other chosen charity, The Matthew Tree Project, has the immediate aim to ensure that people forced to make choices between eating or keeping warm or paying rent, do not go hungry. The charity helps to empower and support people who have fallen into crisis for whatever reason to rebuild their lives and create a better, healthier, happier future.
Pukka staff also downed tools for the day to hit the streets of Bristol and offer boxes of Pukka tea for a donation of any size towards the two charities. Pukka will then matched what was raised to double the teams efforts.
Thank you again to all of the amazing people who helped us give back this Black Friday. We are extremely pleased to announce that together we raised just shy of £10,000 for both charities. In the spirit of giving back, we will we’ll be rounding up to £10,000 so both our chosen charities will receive £5,000 each.
We will continue to give 1% of everything we sell throughout the year to environmental charities as part of our commitment to 1% For The Planet.
