Pukka partners with Soul Fire Farm in 1% for the Planet environmental non-profit collaboration
Soul Fire Farm is an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm in Petersburg, New York, committed to uprooting racism and injustice in the food system. With deep reverence for the land and wisdom of our ancestors, Soul Fire Farm works to reclaim the collective right to belong to the earth and to have agency in the food system. The farm brings diverse communities together on the healing land to share skills on sustainable agriculture, natural building, spiritual activism, health, and environmental justice. They are training the next generation of activist-farmers and strengthening the movements for food sovereignty and community self-determination.
Pukka’s partnership with Soul Fire Farm through the 1% for the Planet program will support the Farm’s 2020 capital campaign, contributing to the upgrade of the program center, allowing the farm to double the number of aspiring and current BIPOC farmers that they can train and support.
Soul Fire Farm is one of Pukka’s first 1% for the Planet partners in the United States, giving us the opportunity to bring our mission to life by supporting the intersection of people and planet through fair, equitable sourcing and access to incredible organic plants.
