Warming ginger nut porridge

  • 2 persons
  • 15 minutes

Start your morning off with the warming festive flavours in this comforting recipe, made with our Three Ginger Tea.

Bursting with spices and nutty goodness, it's a delicious and wholesome treat to set you up for the day in the colder months.

Info for the doshas: Vata and Kapha types can soak the nuts overnight to help make them more digestible. Kapha types are advised to sweeten only with honey as this is the best type of sweetener for them.

What you need

  • 8 tablespoons of oats

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds

  • 1 ¼ cup of plant based milk - we prefer oat milk

  • 3 Three ginger tea bags

  • Cinnamon and ginger powder to taste

  • A handful of pecans

  • Honey or maple syrup to taste

How to make

  • In a small saucepan, bring 1 ¼ cup of plant based milk to a gentle boil

  • Add the Three Ginger tea bags to make your milk infused tea concentrate

  • Once the tea has infused into the milk for about 5-10 minutes, remove the tea bags and add your oats and chia seeds and stir until the porridge is the consistency you would like it

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or ginger powder if you like more spice, and stir in some honey or maple syrup to sweeten to taste

  • When ready, sprinkle with crushed pecans
