Spiced Vanilla Hot Chocolate

Curl up with a good book or get cosy with friends whilst enjoying our Spiced Vanilla Hot Chocolate recipe. Made with our aromatic Vanilla Chai tea, this blend of cacao, organic vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, fennel and licorice is a delicate and grounding mix of warmth and spice.

  • Half teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • Pinch of cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon of honey to taste (it will likely need some added sweetness if you’re using cacao powder)

  • 2 Pukka Vanilla Chai tea bags

  • 2 tablespoons of organic cacao powder or organic hot chocolate powder

  • 500ml milk or plant-based milk

What you do

In a small saucepan, bring your milk to a gentle simmer and add the Vanilla Chai Pukka tea bags

Remove from the heat, cover with a lid and let it steep for 10 minutes

Remove the tea bags and return the pan to the heat. Add the cacao or hot chocolate powder, vanilla extract and cinnamon and bring it back to a gentle simmer.

Turn off the heat and allow to cool slightly, then stir through honey to taste.

Pour into your favourite mugs, sprinkle with cacao nibs, cacao powder or cinnamon (optional) and enjoy.
