Technical Project Manager – Tea

Based in our inspiring Bristol head office, the Technical Project Manager is a permanent full-time role, with a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience. Alongside this you’ll have a benefits package designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development.

About the role

In this exciting role you’ll be responsible for the technical delivery of our priority tea projects from idea to launch.  You will oversee their deployment globally, with a particular focus on Europe and USA.  From developing timeline documentation and systems to support the Project Lead (typically Marketing Lead), to shaping the technical aspects of the project, you’ll translate these into a technical project workplan for monitoring delivery, quality and sustainability. 

You’ll be responsible for the early evaluation of technical feasibility and input of technical details to significant project milestone events in our innovation process. You’ll work collaboratively to coordinate all technical information and ensure it is delivered in accordance with project timelines.

With the support from our Quality team, and Herbal Development, Research and Education team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring product claims support, technical risk management, and compliance with policy, legal, regulatory and safety clearances and requirements.

You will also work closely with our Senior Technical Project Lead to develop and embed a successful and sustainable approach to technical project management for new and existing product innovation across Pukka’s portfolio, including capturing learnings to create new tools and templates.

About you

To be our Technical Project Manager you’ll have experience in a similar technical project management role where you’ll have developed a broad understanding of branded consumer goods and complex supply chains. With proven experience in innovation or R&D teams, you’ll have strong technical expertise across product development and technical experience in manufacturing.

You’ll have a degree-level qualification or equivalent in a scientific field, ideally Food Science or Food Technology, or proven work experience in leading technical delivery of products to launch, ideally food or beverage products. Highly organised with strong project management skills, you’ll have a functional knowledge of project management techniques, including the stage-gate approach.

A confident communicator with personal gravitas and resilience, you’ll have the ability and experience of influencing and engaging with senior teams. You’ll demonstrate a very high level of personal engagement with the ability to motivate others to progress actions, and clearly articulate obstacles, risks and resource requirements at all organisational levels in the business.

With a broad cross-functional understanding, you’ll be able to ‘join-the-dots’ across complex projects to identify opportunity, risks or obstacles and articulate recommended actions. Using your industry knowledge, prior experience and resources available at Pukka, you’ll help innovation teams to think as broadly as possible when unlocking innovation opportunities.
