Performance Analyst (Power BI specialist) / Business Intelligence Analyst

Based in our award-winning Bristol head office, or working remotely, and reporting to our Head of Commercial Finance, this exciting 6-month fixed term role comes with a salary of £35k - £40k per annum (pro rata) depending on experience, alongside a benefits package designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development.

About the opportunity

In this role of BIA / BI Developer / Performance Analyst you’ll bring to life data from our sales, procurement, supply chain, marketing and sustainability teams to support and drive performance. You’ll ingest data from a variety of data sources including finance, market and operational, and perform transformations in the PowerBI query editor.

You’ll design effective BI data models and develop calculations in DAX which are accurate and performant on large datasets. Using PowerBI themes, report grids and navigation features you’ll create effective layouts to guide the reader through a compelling data-driven story.

As part of the Commercial Finance team, you’ll actively participate in the development of the vision for data, analytics, architecture and workflow across the information landscape at Pukka. You’ll play a key role in supporting and upskilling of the wider Commercial Finance team in using the PowerBI ecosystem.

About you

You’ll have a solid background and experience within a data, financial data, or business intelligence analysis role where you have lived and breathed the PowerBI ecosystem daily. You’ll have a passion for data analysis and have used PowerBI to add significant amounts of value in your previous roles. Preferably have worked at an FMCG.

You’ll have significant experience as a Business Intelligence developer using the Microsoft BI stack e.g. SQL Server database, Power BI. Strong SQL skills for querying and creation of views/tables, functions and stored procedures are essential. Using SQL, DAX and PowerBI, you’ll be skilled at building dashboards, reports and cubes. You’ll be able to articulate and document architectural solutions and processes to ensure a continuing education and upskilling of the wider Commercial Finance team.

You’ll have experience in designing ETL processes including knowledge of data warehousing strategies and theories, as well as a passion to develop new, or maintain and improve, existing ETL processes.

A self-starter with a high sense of ownership, you’ll be conscientious in seeing a project through to completion. You’ll thrive at pace and be skilled at turning challenge and obstacles into decisive and purposeful action.
