Sophie Radcliffe on cycling from London to Paris and discovering your limitless potential

22nd April 2016

On April 30th 2016, adventurer, blogger and motivational speaker Sophie Radcliffe will cycle 300km from London to Paris within 24-hours with 60 people who’ll have travelled from all over the world to take part in the Sportive event (set up by Sophie herself).

The annual ride was an idea born out of Sophie’s passion to help people discover their limitless potential based on her philosophy: ‘one day I will not be able to do this, today is not that day.

‘For many people coming it’ll be the first time they’ve attempted anything like this. I look forward to riding with them through the challenges; of all kinds of weather, sleep deprivation, the dark night and traffic lights coming into Paris, and then the elation and sheer sense of pride when arriving at the Eiffel tower.

Sophie has completed the route from London to Paris nine times. She is also the only person in history to have climbed the highest mountains in the eight Alpine countries and cycle between them. She’s completed 100km ultra marathons, raced her bike coast to coast across the USA and is a two-time Ironman finisher.

‘I love cycling in the mountains; it’s just phenomenal. The beautiful ascents, sunshine beating down, the thrill of the challenge, and stopping at the top to admire the views before cruising down the other side.

Cycling in the mountains is life-changing – I’ve cycled with grown men who have cried! This summer I’m planning to cycle the 700km route from Geneva to Nice – it has 16 mountain passes, some of which are the highest in the Alps (one of the descents is 40km long!).

My body works hard for me, so good nutrition is absolutely essential. I notice a huge difference when I eat well, drink lots of herbal tea (especially Pukka Herbs) and stay hydrated. I’m obsessed with Pukka’s matcha tea range because it makes me feel fantastic.

‘I’m so pleased to be an ambassador for Pukka. Starting the day with a steaming mug of their matcha green tea puts me in the best place to tackle life head on. We have some very exciting plans coming up and I can’t wait to share them with the Pukka community.’

‘I believe that herbal tea can power your lifestyle to help you go out and achieve what you want.’
