Where do Pukka stand on animal testing?

Pukka stands for life. And love – love of this glorious planet, and every living creature on it. So we will always oppose animal testing, and keep our business 100% cruelty-free.

No finished Pukka creation, or substance of any product, has ever been tested on animals – at any phase of development – nor will there ever be a reason for us to do so.

We’ve never commissioned our supply chain or business to use animal testing, and we’ve never used the services of any other research establishment to conduct animal testing on our behalf, either for a product or any product ingredients.

Our two cosmetic products – Active Oil and Castor Oil – are certified as Cruelty Free by the Leaping Bunny programme. Pukka believes that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements. All of our brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited. For more information about Cruelty Free International and Leaping Bunny criteria, please visit crueltyfreeinternational.org.

As part of our certification, each year we ask for written assurances from our suppliers to ensure that the ingredients they sell us comply with the Leaping Bunny programme, the gold standard for products that are free from animal testing.
If we found that any of the ingredients weren’t fully compliant with the Leaping Bunny programme, we’d seek an alternative supplier – and, if necessary, remove the products containing the ingredients from our product range.
