Sleep Dosha Quiz

According to Ayurveda, doshas are the energy patterns that flow around our bodies, governing our thinking and behaviour. There are three primary doshasvata, pitta and kapha – and we are born with all three of them. But it’s generally the dominance of one or two of these doshas that defines who we are. Some lucky people are tridoshic with an equal balance of all three! To enjoy a balanced mind, body, and spirit, so the thinking goes, our unique dosha constitution needs to be in a state of equilibrium. When it isn’t, we feel out of balance and may experience health issues.

This short sleep quiz provides you with a few tips and a specially curated playlist to help you get a better night’s sleep, by bringing the doshas back into balance.

Why listen to these dosha balancing playlists? Ayurveda promotes the use of specific sounds and mantras to transform, balance and heal. By relaxing and awakening the inner self through sound, each of us can calm, harmonise, and balance our dosha and get a better night’s sleep.

Most people who experience sleeping issues will most likely have problems with vata or pitta. Conversely, kapha people may need more support waking up and getting out of bed.

Regardless of what dosha you are, you can listen to any of the playlists to help find balance, and better sleep hygiene habits. Many external factors can cause an imbalance in our dosha, so you may find yourself drawn to a relaxing vata playlist or perhaps you’ll be more in need of an energising boost in the morning with our kapha playlist.  

When used correctly, sounds can greatly affect our state of mind, emotional health, and provide a balancing effect on the doshas.
